Welcome!

Soooo… I guess I have a blog now! Didn’t think I was the blogging type, nor did I think I was going to have a website either, but since everyone has them and it seems silly to not have one- here we are. I don’t think this page or blog will get much attention but it’ll be a fun experiment. I do, however, want to have a space where I can talk about the things that I’m into at the minute, talk about the places I’ve been to, share things I’ve learned, do reviews on movies and tv shows I’ve seen, and also have an outlet to just have a good ol’ chat. A place where I can word vomit whatever is on my mind and send it out into the universe. A blog and a website may just be an excuse for me to go out and do something for the day or give me inspiration to keep finding things in the world that excite me. I’ll also need to try and work on my own projects and to have an excuse to just create art.

I feel like the more and more I am growing as a person and moving on up in the world, I’ve come to realize that you never end up having the time to do the things you love or have the time to create your own art when you work in a creative industry. You have to consciously make time for yourself and your goals, especially once you’re in a work place setting and it’s easy to become creatively drained. Getting a job right out of uni is something that is constantly on my mind, and the closer I get to my graduation date, the more and more I realize I should be taking advantage of the fact that I was lucky enough to have had jobs as a student at all. Granted, most of the time it goes unpaid, but hey, beggars can’t be choosers right? Now that it’s time to take the “training wheels” off and use all of the experiences I’ve had and just hope that my resume and the timing (because timing is everything) is right. Truth be told Im actually pretty scared of the whole post undergrad limbo that I’ve heard people older than me talk about over the past few months. The trickiest transition is the one you have to make when you’re no longer a student and have to be an “adult” and get a job.

Anyway! Thanks for looking at my website. It’s going to be a work in progress, but I appreciate the time you’ve taken to come have a look and then champion through my first blog post. I myself will also be a complete hot mess so do bare with as (let’s be realistic here) no one has any idea what the heck they’re doing anyway. Enjoy!
